This project addresses the Markas challenge of optimizing consumable usage. To achieve this, we propose a two-pronged approach:
1. Vending Machines: Implementing vending machines for dispensing consumables allows for:
- Controlled Access: Only authorized personnel can access the machines, reducing unauthorized use and waste.
- Automated Tracking: Each transaction is logged, providing precise data on who took what and when.
- Reduced Stockpiling: Employees are less likely to hoard supplies if they know they have reliable access to them.
2. RFID Drop Boxes: For items not suitable for vending machines, RFID-enabled drop boxes offer:
- Real-time Monitoring: Track consumable levels in real-time, enabling timely replenishment and preventing shortages.
- Usage Analysis: Identify trends in consumable usage by department, team, or individual.
- Waste Reduction: Monitor the lifespan of tools and equipment to identify areas for improvement and reduce unnecessary replacements.
This comprehensive solution will provide Markas with full accountability for the usage of all consumables, including mops and other cleaning supplies.
By accurately tracking and analyzing consumption patterns, Markas can:
- Optimize Inventory: Reduce the costs associated with overstocking and storage.
- Minimize Waste: Identify and eliminate unnecessary consumption.
- Improve Budgeting: Make more informed decisions about resource allocation.
- Enhance Productivity: Ensure employees always have the necessary tools and supplies to perform their jobs effectively.
This approach not only addresses the immediate challenge but also lays the foundation for a more sustainable and efficient operational model.
